Blocktopus App Privacy Policy

The Short Version:
Generally, your data never leaves your device. We don't have servers. We don't track you. We can't see your Sessions. When you delete the app, all your data is gone. That's it.

Who We Are
Blocktopus is a focus app for adults (18+) that helps you resist digital distractions. We believe your productivity data is yours alone.
Our Privacy Promise
Everything stays on your iPhone (unless you choose otherwise). We literally cannot access your data because we don't operate any servers. There's no account system, no cloud sync, and no way for us to see what you're doing.
Information That Stays on Your Device
Your Focus Sessions
When you complete a Session, your device remembers:
- When it started and ended
- Whether you completed it, quit early, or bypassed Screen Time restrictions
- Which apps you chose to block (stored as anonymous tokens)
Sessions older than 90 days are automatically deleted.
Your Statistics
Your device calculates:
- How many Sessions you've started
- Your completion rate
These stats never leave your phone unless you want them to.
Your Settings
Your device remembers:
- That you confirmed you're 18+
- Whether you've set up Screen Time
Temporary Stuff
Your finger-drawn signature appears during Session setup but isn't saved anywhere. The apps you select for restricting are converted to privacy-preserving tokens (we can't even see the actual app names).
Information We Never Collect
We don't collect:
- Your name, email, or any contact information
- Your location
- Your photos, contacts, or calendar
- Your actual Screen Time or app usage data
- Device identifiers or advertising IDs
- Your browsing history or clipboard
- Crash reports or performance metrics
- Literally anything that could identify you
Third Parties
There are no third parties. We don't use:
- Analytics services (no Google Analytics, Firebase, etc.)
- Crash reporting (no Crashlytics, Sentry, etc.)
- Advertising networks
- Social media integrations
- Any external services that could access your data
The only external interactions are:
- Apple's App Store: Handles app purchases (we never see your payment info)
- Our website: When you tap links for Support or this Privacy Policy
Your Control
You have complete control:
- View everything: See all your data in the app's History section
- Delete everything: Delete the app and all data disappears instantly
- No account needed: Nothing to cancel, no data to request
Screen Time Integration
We use iOS Screen Time to restrict apps, but:
- We only know if you've granted permission (yes/no)
- We don’t see your actual usage statistics
- App names are hidden behind Apple's privacy tokens
- iOS handles all the restrictions
Purchases
Payments are processed by Apple. We never see your:
- Payment information
- Real name
- Billing address
- Purchase history
Data Security
Your data is protected by:
- iOS Sandboxing: Other apps can't access your Blocktopus data
- Local Storage Only: No network transmission means no interception
- No Password Risk: No account system means nothing to hack
Age Requirement
Blocktopus is for users 18 and older. We don't knowingly collect any information from anyone under 18. If you're under 18, please don't use this app.
California Privacy Rights
If you're a California resident, you have rights under CCPA. Good news: Since we don't collect or sell personal information, these rights are automatically respected. There's nothing to opt out of because we don't do any of the things CCPA protects against.
Changes to This Policy
If we update this policy, we'll post the new version at blocktopusapp.com/privacy (https://www.blocktopusapp.com/privacy) with the new date. The app will continue to work exactly the same way: All data stays on your device.
